Yes, through an Android screen in the radio position with a fascia made for the ZE2 dashboard. The CD radio, the Honda navigation and the Japanese Gathers unit have no CarPlay path, so the screen replaces them and gives you wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, DAB, a camera input and an Irish FM band on imported cars. The steering-wheel buttons are kept through a canbus adapter.
My Insight is a 2019 Japanese import. Does it already have CarPlay?
Some ZE4 cars came with Honda Connect and CarPlay in Japan; most imports have the Gathers navigation unit without it. Send the reg or a photo of the screen and we tell you which. With CarPlay present we add a wireless adapter and an FM band expander; without it the route is an Android screen made for the ZE4 dashboard. The dashboard language is a separate job.
How much does CarPlay cost on a Honda Insight?
It depends on the generation. ZE2 / ZE3 (2009–2014): from €290; ZE4 (2018–2022): from €290. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.
