Mechanically yes: the F39 shares its platform and head units with the X1 F48 of the same years, so activation, cameras and dash cams follow the same routes. The U10 matches the X1 U11 in the same way.

CarPlay: Coding activation on the F39 with ID5, ID6 or ID7, factory CarPlay on the U10. Reversing camera: Factory camera coded into iDrive on the F39 and U10. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kit on the F39, extended ambient lighting on the U10. Dash cam: Hardwired from the glovebox fuse panel with parking mode and a BMW-safe cut-off. Car radio: Larger Android screen with the factory buttons and amplifier kept, where the original display is too small. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Parking sensors: Colour-matched sensors with a factory-style tone, shown on the screen where the car supports it. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Ambient lighting: two to four hours. Dash cam: one to two hours for a front camera, about two with a rear camera. Most X2 owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
