The Mk3 from 2015 to 2023, for SmartLink activation on MIB2 first, then Android screens on cars where activation is not possible, plus dash cams on the newer ones. Mk2 owners come for the Android screen because Swing and Bolero have no display. The Mk4 already has wireless CarPlay, so it comes in for dash cams and cameras.

Only in where the power comes from. On the iV we hardwire from the 12 V fuse box in the cabin with a low-voltage cut-off, never from the high-voltage side, and parking mode is set so the small 12 V battery is not run down. Cameras and cable runs are otherwise the same as on the petrol and diesel cars.

Car radio: Android screen in place of Swing or Bolero on the Mk2 and Mk3, Canton amplifier kept. CarPlay: SmartLink activation on MIB2 Mk3 cars, an Android screen on the Mk2, factory CarPlay on the Mk4. Reversing camera: Factory-look camera coded into MIB2 and MIB3, on the Android screen or a mirror on the Mk2. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Parking sensors: Colour-matched sensors with a factory-style tone, shown on the screen where the car supports it. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Ambient lighting: two to four hours. Most Superb owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
