SEAT Ibiza upgrades, generation by generation.

The 6J from 2008 to 2015, nearly always for the Ibiza Android screen with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, because the SEAT Sound System has no usable display. KJ owners come for Full Link activation, a wireless adapter, a reversing camera or front sensors. 6L cars still come in for a screen and speakers.

Mostly, yes. The 6J shares its platform with the Polo 6R and the KJ with the Polo AW, so the Media System units are the VW MIB systems under SEAT names and the coding, camera and sensor routes are the same. The Android screens are Ibiza-specific because the fascia is different.

Full Link coding is about an hour. An Android screen or a reversing camera is two to three hours, front sensors half a day because the bumper comes off. You can wait at our Dublin 11 workshop for the shorter jobs or drop the car in the morning.

CarPlay: Ibiza Android screen on the 6L and 6J, Full Link coding on 6P and KJ cars, wireless adapters and imports. Car radio: Ibiza-specific Android screen in the 6J and 6L fascia with DAB and steering-wheel control kept. Reversing camera: Camera in the tailgate handle: coded into the Media System on 6P and KJ cars, Android screen on the 6J and 6L. Parking sensors: Park Pilot coded in on 6P and KJ cars, colour-matched aftermarket sensors on older Ibizas. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters on every Ibiza; Beats Audio cars keep their amplifier. Ambient lighting: LED kits for the 6L and 6J, the factory ambient light extended on the KJ. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Parking sensors: two to three hours for one end, about half a day for front and rear. Most Ibiza owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
