For the screen, yes: the PHEV shares the GF dashboard, radio opening and harness, so the same Android screen, adapter and camera routes apply. The difference is the wiring for anything added: on the PHEV everything hangs off the 12 V side, and we check where the charge timer is set before an MMCS unit comes out.

CU — 2003–2006: Mitsubishi CD radio in a double-DIN opening on most cars; no factory screen. CW — 2007–2012: Mitsubishi CD radio, 6-CD on higher trims; MMCS 7-inch hard-drive nav on Diamond and some Elegance cars; Rockford Fosgate amplifier and boot subwoofer on Elegance and Diamond. GF — 2012–2021: CD radio with a small display on 2013–2016 GX2 and GX3 cars, MMCS 7-inch nav on GX4 and GX5; SDA touchscreen with CarPlay and Android Auto on most trims from around 2017, 8-inch after the 2019 facelift. Car radio: Android screen on the CU, CW and GF; Rockford Fosgate cars keep the amplifier through an adapter. CarPlay: Android screen on the CU, CW and early GF; wireless adapter on SDA cars from around 2017. Reversing camera: Tailgate camera on the Android screen, the MMCS or the SDA camera input. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Parking sensors: Colour-matched sensors with a factory-style tone, shown on the screen where the car supports it. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Ambient lighting: two to four hours. Most Outlander owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
