2010 to 2016 cars, mostly for an Android screen with CarPlay, because the CD radio has no proper display and the MMCS nav is dated. Later SDA cars come for a wireless CarPlay adapter, and the odd Japanese RVR import for a screen with English menus and Irish radio.

Close to it. The ASX shares its CD radio, MMCS and SDA units with the Outlander of the same years, so the screens, adapters and harnesses follow the same routes; only the fascia is ASX-specific. Where an ASX has the Rockford Fosgate system, it is kept through the same adapter as on the Outlander.

Car radio: Android screen with the ASX fascia on 2010–2016 cars; SDA cars keep their screen. CarPlay: Android screen on 2010–2016 cars, wireless adapter on SDA cars from around 2017. Reversing camera: Camera on the factory screen where it supports it, a mirror monitor or Android screen where it does not. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Parking sensors: Colour-matched sensors with a factory-style tone, shown on the screen where the car supports it. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Ambient lighting: two to four hours. Most ASX owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
