Radio King upgrades the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV by generation: the GG2W gets an Android screen in place of the MMCS nav or the CD radio, with the charge-timer menus checked first, and the GG3W has CarPlay on its SDA unit, so the usual job there is a wireless adapter. Send your reg and we confirm what fits.
The head unit decides the route, and it changed with every generation. Find your years, then pick the service above for what we fit and from what price.
| Generation | Years | Body | Factory system |
|---|---|---|---|
| GG2W 2.0-litre PHEV, 2015 and 2017 facelifts included | 2014–2018 | — | MMCS 7-inch nav on GX4h and GX5h and a CD radio with a small display on GX3h until 2016; SDA touchscreen with CarPlay and Android Auto on most trims from around 2017 |
| GG3W 2.4-litre PHEV facelift | 2019–2021 | — | SDA 8-inch touchscreen with CarPlay and Android Auto on most trims of the 2.4-litre facelift |
Generation-by-generation guides first — the Outlander PHEV jobs we see most. The rest of the workshop's services are done on every Mitsubishi too.
Book the install, let us photograph the finished car for a case study, and you get a discount on the fitting. Every Outlander PHEV owner after you gets a real example to look at.
Real Mitsubishi cars from the Dublin 11 workshop — Outlander PHEV first, then the rest of the range: what was fitted and what changed on the dash.
Car-specific screens, CarPlay boxes and activations for Mitsubishi: supply-only with delivery across Ireland, or fitted at our Dublin 11 workshop.
Answers for Outlander PHEV owners. Something else? Message us on WhatsApp — we usually reply in under 5 minutes.
Ask on WhatsAppThe GG2W from 2014 to 2018, split between MMCS cars that want an Android screen with CarPlay and SDA cars that want a wireless adapter. GG3W owners come for a wireless adapter and, now and then, a bigger Android screen with built-in navigation.
Only in where it connects. Everything we add runs off the 12 V system, never the drive battery, and the 12 V battery in a PHEV is small, so anything with a parking mode gets a low-voltage cut-off. The head unit itself draws no more than the factory one it replaces, so the car's own electrics are not affected.
GG2W — 2014–2018: MMCS 7-inch nav on GX4h and GX5h and a CD radio with a small display on GX3h until 2016; SDA touchscreen with CarPlay and Android Auto on most trims from around 2017. GG3W — 2019–2021: SDA 8-inch touchscreen with CarPlay and Android Auto on most trims of the 2.4-litre facelift. Not sure? Send the reg on WhatsApp and we tell you the generation and the route.
Car radio: Android screen in place of the MMCS or CD radio on the GG2W; the GG3W keeps its SDA with a wireless adapter. Reversing camera: Factory-look camera on the factory screen with guidelines, coded in where the car supports it. CarPlay: Activation or a CarPlay box on the factory screen; a wireless adapter where CarPlay is already fitted. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Parking sensors: Colour-matched sensors with a factory-style tone, shown on the screen where the car supports it. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.
Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Reversing camera: two to three hours. CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Ambient lighting: two to four hours. Most Outlander PHEV owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
GG2W: the MMCS 7-inch nav on GX4h and GX5h and a CD radio with a small display on GX3h until 2016; SDA touchscreen with CarPlay and Android Auto on most trims from around 2017 stays and we add to it. GG3W: the SDA 8-inch touchscreen with CarPlay and Android Auto on most trims of the 2.4-litre facelift stays and we add to it. Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.
Send the reg or the year on WhatsApp or the form below and we confirm the generation, the route, the price and the next free slot. Every job carries a one-year warranty on the work, done at our workshop in Rosemount Business Park, Dublin 11, Monday to Saturday.
