Sometimes. On X260 cars with the 10.2-inch InControl Touch Pro screen from about 2018, the CarPlay and Android Auto functions may be in the software and locked, and we can check the VIN and switch them on. Earlier Touch Pro cars, the 8-inch InControl Touch and every X250 with the 7-inch screen never had it, so those get our wireless CarPlay box, which shows CarPlay on the original screen.
What does the box do on a 2010 XF with the 7-inch screen?
It sits behind the original unit and puts CarPlay or Android Auto on the 7-inch touchscreen full-size, controlled by touch. The Jaguar menus, climate page and radio are untouched; you switch to CarPlay with a long press on a button we agree with you. Your phone connects wirelessly a few seconds after you start the car, and a reversing camera can be added through the same box.
How much does CarPlay cost on a Jaguar XF?
It depends on the generation. X250 (2008–2015): from €450; X260 (2015 on): from €150. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.
