Radio King upgrades the Jaguar XF by generation: the 2008–2015 X250 gets a wireless CarPlay box on its 7-inch touchscreen or a 10.25-inch Android screen, and the 2015-on X260 gets a box, a software switch-on or a wireless adapter, with reversing cameras, front sensors, dash cams and ambient light on both. Send your reg and we confirm the route.
The head unit decides the route, and it changed with every generation. Find your years, then pick the service above for what we fit and from what price.
| Generation | Years | Body | Factory system |
|---|---|---|---|
| X250 First generation | 2008–2015 | Saloon and Sportbrake | Jaguar 7-inch touchscreen with navigation, standard on most cars; no CarPlay |
| X260 Second generation | 2015 on | Saloon and Sportbrake | InControl Touch 8-inch on 2015–2017 cars, InControl Touch Pro 10.2-inch on most 2016–2020 cars with CarPlay as an option from 2018, Pivi Pro 11.4-inch with CarPlay standard from the 2021 model year |

Ask on WhatsAppThe X250 (2008–2015) for wireless CarPlay boxes on the 7-inch screen, which is the job in our XF case study, and the X260 (2015–2020) for CarPlay boxes or a software switch-on and reversing cameras. Pivi Pro cars from 2021 come for dash cams, front sensors and wireless adapters. The Sportbrake is the same job as the saloon.
Yes. The CarPlay box, camera and adapters all use the car's own inputs, and an Android screen on the X250 or X260 connects to the Meridian or Bowers & Wilkins amplifier through an adapter, so every speaker carries on. Nothing is cut and the car can go back to standard if it is returned at the end of a lease.
Yes: 2012-on cars have a stop-start system with an AGM battery in the boot, so we set the cut-off voltage a little higher than usual and take power from the passenger-side fuse panel rather than the boot to keep the run short. Parking mode is set so a few days at the airport do not flatten it.
X250 — 2008–2015 (Saloon and Sportbrake): Jaguar 7-inch touchscreen with navigation, standard on most cars; no CarPlay. X260 — 2015 on (Saloon and Sportbrake): InControl Touch 8-inch on 2015–2017 cars, InControl Touch Pro 10.2-inch on most 2016–2020 cars with CarPlay as an option from 2018, Pivi Pro 11.4-inch with CarPlay standard from the 2021 model year. Not sure? Send the reg on WhatsApp and we tell you the generation and the route.
CarPlay: Box on X250 and InControl cars, software switch-on on some Touch Pro cars, wireless adapter on Pivi Pro. Reversing camera: Camera above the plate: through the box on the X250, coded into InControl or Pivi Pro on the X260. Car radio: 10.25-inch Android screen on the X250, an Android screen in the InControl position on 2016–2020 X260 cars. Parking sensors: Front sensors added to cars with rear PDC only, coded into the screen on the X260. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kit in doors, footwells and console alongside the factory mood lighting. Dash cam: Hardwired from the passenger-side fuse panel with a cut-off set for the Jaguar's battery. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.
CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Parking sensors: two to three hours for one end, about half a day for front and rear. Most XF owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
X250: the Jaguar 7-inch touchscreen with navigation, standard on most cars; no CarPlay stays and we add to it. X260: the InControl Touch 8-inch on 2015–2017 cars, InControl Touch Pro 10.2-inch on most 2016–2020 cars with CarPlay as an option from 2018, Pivi Pro 11.4-inch with CarPlay standard from the 2021 model year stays and we add to it. Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.
Send the reg or the year on WhatsApp or the form below and we confirm the generation, the route, the price and the next free slot. Every job carries a one-year warranty on the work, done at our workshop in Rosemount Business Park, Dublin 11, Monday to Saturday.
