Usually not. Until the 2019 facelift CarPlay and Android Auto were only available as a late option on cars with the 10.2-inch Touch Pro screen, and most Irish XEs have the 8-inch InControl Touch. Those cars get our wireless CarPlay box, which shows CarPlay on the original screen by touch. On late Touch Pro cars we check first whether the function can be switched on by software.
Can the facelift XE go wireless?
Yes. 2019-on cars have wired CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory, on InControl Touch Pro and then Pivi Pro. A small wireless adapter plugs into the USB port and your phone connects on its own each time you get in. On Pivi Pro cars we also check the software is current, since on many cars an update added wireless CarPlay without any hardware.
How much does CarPlay cost on a Jaguar XE?
It depends on the generation. X760 (2015–2019): from €450; Facelift X760 (2019 on): from €150. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.

X760: two to four hours; Facelift X760: about an hour. You can wait at the workshop or drop the XE in the morning and collect it the same day.

X760: the InControl Touch 8-inch on most cars, InControl Touch Pro 10.2-inch as an option from 2016; CarPlay only as an option on late Touch Pro cars and its controls stay; the box sits behind the trim and is switched from the factory buttons. Facelift X760: CarPlay is factory-fitted, so we only add to it.
