Our wireless CarPlay box. It sits behind the InControl Touch unit and puts CarPlay or Android Auto on the original screen, driven by touch, with the phone connecting wirelessly when you start the car. Every Jaguar menu, the climate page and the Meridian sound stay as they were, and the car goes back to standard if the box is removed. A matching box fits 2013–2016 cars with the earlier 8-inch screen.
Does the 2020 facelift F-Type need anything for CarPlay?
No box: CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on facelift cars, wired through the USB port. What most owners want is wireless, and a small adapter does that in half an hour. On cars imported from outside Europe we also check the navigation region and maps, and we sort pairing faults where a phone refuses to connect.
How much does CarPlay cost on a Jaguar F-Type?
It depends on the generation. X152 (2013–2019): from €400; Facelift X152 (2020–2024): from €150. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.
