Mk2, built 2006–2011 (6000CD radio, no screen): Hardwired from the cab fuse box with a low-voltage cut-off; cable hidden along the A-pillar and headliner. T6, built 2011–2022 (Radio with a 4.2-inch display or SYNC 1 on 2012–2015 trucks; SYNC 2 with an 8-inch touchscreen on the first 2016 builds, then SYNC 3 with an 8-inch touchscreen, CarPlay after a software update and standard on later trucks): Fuse tap in the passenger-side fuse box with a parking-mode cut-off; front camera behind the mirror, rear camera in the cab rear window with the loom along the headliner. T6.2, built 2023 on (SYNC 4 with a 10.1 or 12-inch portrait touchscreen, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory): Hardwired from the 12-volt fuse box with a battery-safe cut-off, kept off the high-voltage side on the PHEV; front and rear cab cameras hidden in the headliner.

One to two hours for a front camera, about two with a rear camera on the Ford Ranger Mk2, T6 and T6.2. You can wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.

On every Ranger we work on — Mk2, T6 and T6.2 — nothing is cut: the camera runs off fuse taps with a low-voltage cut-off, so parking mode records and stops before the battery is flat.
