Citroën C4 upgrades, generation by generation.

The B78 C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso from 2013 to 2018, for the CarPlay box on 2013 to 2016 cars and front parking sensors on the seven-seat Grand. B7 hatch owners come for the Android screen because the RD45 radio has no display. Mk3 owners come for wireless adapters and front sensors. The Picasso we did recently went the box route.

Not on this page. The C4 Cactus from 2014 to 2020 has its own dashboard with a 7-inch touchscreen, SMEG+ on early cars and Connect Nav with CarPlay from the 2018 facelift, so the CarPlay box route for early cars is the same idea, but the parts differ. B7 — 2010–2018 (Five-door hatch): RD45 radio with a small display; eMyWay navigation with a 7-inch colour display on some cars; a 7-inch touchscreen on a few late cars; no CarPlay. B78 — 2013–2018 (Five and seven-seat MPV; C4 SpaceTourer from 2018 to 2022): 7-inch touchscreen with the 12-inch top display, SMEG+ on 2013–2016 cars; Connect Nav (NAC) with Mirror Screen and CarPlay from the 2016 facelift. Mk3 — 2021 on (Hatch, ë-C4 and C4 X): 10-inch touchscreen (NAC) with wired CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory on every trim. Not sure? CarPlay: An Android screen on the B7, a CarPlay box on the B78 Picasso, a wireless adapter on late B78 and Mk3 cars. Car radio: A C4-specific Android screen replaces the RD45 or eMyWay on the B7; the Picasso and Mk3 keep their screens. Parking sensors: Colour-matched front or rear sensors with a factory-style tone on the B7, the C4 Picasso and the Mk3. Reversing camera: Factory-look camera on the factory screen with guidelines, coded in where the car supports it. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Parking sensors: two to three hours for one end, about half a day for front and rear. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Most C4 owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.

Mk3: the 10-inch touchscreen (NAC) with wired CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory on every trim stays and we add to it. Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.
