Ask on WhatsAppDoes the CarPlay interface change how my 997 looks inside?
No. The interface sits behind the factory PCM 2.1 or PCM 3.0 unit, so the dashboard, screen and buttons are exactly as Porsche built them. CarPlay and Android Auto appear as one more source on the same screen, the radio and navigation stay, and if the module is ever removed the car goes back to standard with no trace. It is the kit we fit most on 2006 to 2011 cars.
Can I get wireless CarPlay and Android Auto on a 991.2 or 992?
Yes. Cars with PCM 4.0 and PCM 5.0, roughly 2016 to 2021, have wired CarPlay and no Android Auto; a module behind the screen adds both wirelessly and keeps every Porsche function. From the 2022 model year PCM 6.0 has wireless CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory, so those cars only come in for pairing faults or imported-car maps.
How much does CarPlay cost on a Porsche 911?
It depends on the generation. 997 (2004–2012): from €700; 991 (2011–2019): from €700; 992 (2019 on): from €250. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.
