It goes behind the PCM 4.0 screen and adds wireless CarPlay and Android Auto as another source, while the factory radio, navigation, buttons and camera carry on as before; nothing is cut and the car can go back to standard. It is the kit in the shop for 2017 and 2018 cars and fits the same PCM 4.0 up to the 2021 model year. From 2022 PCM 6.0 has both built in.
Can a 970 Panamera have CarPlay without changing the screen?
Yes. On 2009 to 2016 cars the interface sits behind PCM 3.0 or 3.1 and puts CarPlay and Android Auto on the factory screen, controlled from the touchscreen and the console buttons. Bose and Burmester sound, the reversing camera and the parking display all stay. Fitting is a few hours and the car is back the same day.
How much does CarPlay cost on a Porsche Panamera?
It depends on the generation. 970 (2009–2016): from €700; 971 (2016–2023): from €700; 972 (2024 on): from €250. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.
