Radio King upgrades the Jeep Renegade: pre-facelift cars from 2015 to 2018 have Uconnect 5.0 or 6.5 with no CarPlay, so they get a Renegade-specific Android screen with the camera on it; facelift cars from 2019 have CarPlay and Android Auto in Uconnect, so we fit factory-look reversing cameras and wireless adapters. 2015 to 2018 cars with Uconnect 5.0, for an Android screen with wireless CarPlay and a reversing camera together. Facelift cars from 2019 already have CarPlay, so they come in for a factory-style camera coded into Uconnect, a wireless adapter and dash cams. The 4xe hybrid is the same job with power taken from the 12 V side.
Does the Android screen keep the Renegade's climate and drive controls?
Yes. The screen replaces only the radio: the climate panel, the Selec-Terrain dial and the buttons below stay as they are, and the steering-wheel buttons work through the CAN interface. The kit comes with a Renegade fascia so the finish looks factory, and nothing is cut, so the original radio can go back in.

What does Radio King fit on a Jeep Renegade?
Reversing camera: Tailgate camera on the Android screen or via interface on early cars, coded into Uconnect from 2019. CarPlay: Android screen with wireless CarPlay on 2015–2018 cars, factory CarPlay in Uconnect from 2019. Car radio: 9 or 10-inch Android screen with a Renegade fascia on 2015–2018 cars; Uconnect stays on facelift cars. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Parking sensors: Four rear sensors and a beeper that speeds up as you close in; nothing on the screen. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.
How long do jobs on a Jeep Renegade take?
Reversing camera: two to three hours. CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Ambient lighting: two to four hours. Most Renegade owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
Do you keep the factory system on a Jeep Renegade?
BU: the Uconnect 5.0 radio with a 5-inch screen; Uconnect 6.5 NAV on higher trims; no CarPlay stays and we add to it. Facelift: the Uconnect 4 with a 7-inch screen or Uconnect 8.4 NAV, CarPlay and Android Auto on both stays and we add to it. Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.
