Second-generation MP cars from 2017, for wireless adapters, pairing faults and reversing cameras, with a few base-trim cars getting an Android screen because the 5-inch Uconnect 5.0 has no CarPlay. First-generation MK cars come in for an Android screen. The 4xe hybrid is the same job with power from the 12 V side.

Reversing cameras coded into Uconnect on MP cars or shown on the Android screen on the MK, rear parking sensors with a beeper, hardwired dash cams from the fuse panel in the driver's footwell with a low-voltage cut-off, and speaker upgrades that keep the Beats or Alpine amplifier where the car has one.

MK — 2007–2016: RES or REJ CD radio; Uconnect 430 or 430N with a 6.5-inch screen on some cars after the 2011 facelift; no CarPlay. MP — 2017 on: Uconnect 5.0 radio on base cars, Uconnect 4 with a 7-inch screen or 8.4 NAV with CarPlay and Android Auto on most; Uconnect 5 with a 10.1-inch screen and wireless CarPlay from the 2021 facelift. CarPlay: Android screen with wireless CarPlay on the MK, factory CarPlay in Uconnect on the MP, adapters where wired. Reversing camera: Camera on the factory screen where it supports it, a mirror monitor or Android screen where it does not. Car radio: Car-specific Android screen with wireless CarPlay, DAB and camera input, factory controls kept. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Parking sensors: Four rear sensors and a beeper that speeds up as you close in; nothing on the screen. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Ambient lighting: two to four hours. Most Compass owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.

Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.
