Honda Fit CarPlay installation, generation by generation.

Because the Gathers unit in an imported Fit has Japanese menus, no CarPlay on most cars and an FM band that stops at 90 MHz, so there is nothing to add an adapter to. The Android screen made for the GD, GE, GK or GR dashboard replaces it with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, an Irish FM band, DAB and a camera input. Changing the dashboard language is a separate job we can do at the same visit.

Some GR cars came with Honda Connect and CarPlay in Japan, so the phone connects with a cable. On those we add a wireless adapter and an FM band expander so Irish stations come in, and set what the unit allows. If you want English menus throughout and DAB, the Android screen made for the GR dashboard replaces the unit instead.

It depends on the generation. GD (2001–2008): from €650; GE (2007–2013): from €650; GK / GP5 (2013–2020): from €650; GR / GR3 (2020 on): from €650. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.

GD, built 2001–2008 (Japanese CD radio or a Gathers navigation unit with Japanese menus and a 76–90 MHz FM band): Android screen with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto in the radio position with a GD fascia, replacing the Japanese unit; the same fascia as the Jazz of those years. GE, built 2007–2013 (Gathers navigation unit or a Japanese CD radio; no CarPlay and a Japanese FM band): Android screen replacing the Gathers unit with a GE fascia and harness; steering-wheel buttons kept, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. GK / GP5, built 2013–2020 (Gathers navigation unit or Display Audio with Japanese menus; no CarPlay on most cars and a Japanese FM band): Android screen made for the GK dashboard in place of the Gathers unit, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, climate and steering controls kept; the dashboard language is a separate job. GR / GR3, built 2020 on (Gathers 9-inch navigation unit with Japanese menus; Honda Connect with CarPlay on some cars, but maps and FM band set for Japan): Android screen in the factory position on cars with the Gathers unit; where the Japanese Honda Connect already runs CarPlay, a wireless adapter and an FM band expander instead.

GD: two to three hours; GE: two to three hours; GK / GP5: two to three hours; GR / GR3: two to three hours. You can wait at the workshop or drop the Fit in the morning and collect it the same day.
