Radio King works on the CUPRA Born, launch cars and the updated cars with the 12.9-inch screen alike: CarPlay is factory-fitted, so the jobs are extending the ambient lighting to footwells, door pockets and boot, and hardwiring dash cams from the 12 V side with a cut-off that protects the small battery. 2022 and 2023 cars with the 12-inch screen, for dash cams and ambient lighting extensions, with a few CarPlay pairing faults after software updates. The 12.9-inch cars from 2024 have the latest software and come in for the same lighting and dash cam work.
Is the Born the same as the Volkswagen ID.3 for this work?
Yes. The Born is built on the same platform with the same screen, software and fuse layout as the ID.3 of the same years, so dash cam and lighting routes match. The Born's own trim and ambient colours are the only differences, and we match them.

What does Radio King fit on a CUPRA Born?
Ambient lighting: Factory ambient extended to footwells, door pockets and boot on launch cars and the 12.9-inch cars alike. Dash cam: Hardwired on the 12 V side from the footwell fuse panel with a cut-off set for the EV battery, both phases. Reversing camera: Factory-look camera on the factory screen with guidelines, coded in where the car supports it. CarPlay: Activation or a CarPlay box on the factory screen; a wireless adapter where CarPlay is already fitted. Car radio: Larger Android screen with the factory buttons and amplifier kept, where the original display is too small. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Parking sensors: Four sensors in the rear bumper with a buzzer that beeps faster; sound only. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.
How long do jobs on a CUPRA Born take?
Ambient lighting: two to four hours. Dash cam: one to two hours for a front camera, about two with a rear camera. Reversing camera: two to three hours. CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Most Born owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
Do you keep the factory system on a CUPRA Born?
12-inch screen: the MEB infotainment with a 12-inch screen, software 2.x at launch and 3.x after updates; wireless CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory, ambient lighting on most trims stays and we add to it. 12.9-inch screen: the 12.9-inch screen with software 4.x and later; wireless CarPlay and Android Auto standard stays and we add to it. Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.
