Yes, done from the 12 V side. The Born has a small 12 V battery that the car tops up from the main pack, so we hardwire from the cabin fuse panel with a low-voltage cut-off set for it, and parking mode is limited so it cannot run the battery down while the car sleeps. We do not touch the high-voltage system. Two cameras take about two hours.
Where do the cameras and cables go?
The front camera sits behind the mirror with the cable in the headliner and down the A-pillar trim to the fuse panel; the rear camera goes on the tailgate glass with its cable inside the tailgate loom. Nothing shows in the cabin, on launch cars or the 12.9-inch cars, and the trim goes back as it came off.
How much does dash cam cost on a CUPRA Born?
It depends on the generation. 12-inch screen (2021–2023): from €200; 12.9-inch screen (2024 on): from €200. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.

On every Born we work on — 12-inch and 12.9-inch — nothing is cut: the camera runs off fuse taps with a low-voltage cut-off, so parking mode records and stops before the battery is flat.
