2023 and 2024 launch cars, for CarPlay pairing faults, wireless adapters on early wired cars and dash cams. The 2025 update has newer software and comes in for dash cams and set-up on imported cars. Active, Comfort and Design trims are the same job inside.
Is a dash cam safe on a Dolphin?
Yes, from the 12 V side. BYD fits a small 12 V battery that the car keeps topped up from the main pack, so we hardwire from the cabin fuse panel with a low-voltage cut-off set for it and limit parking mode. The high-voltage system is never touched, and the cable hides behind the A-pillar trim and headliner.

What does Radio King fit on a BYD Dolphin?
CarPlay: Factory CarPlay on every Dolphin; software checked, adapters on wired-only cars, imported-car set-up sorted. Reversing camera: Factory-look camera on the factory screen with guidelines, coded in where the car supports it. Car radio: Larger Android screen with the factory buttons and amplifier kept, where the original display is too small. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Parking sensors: Four sensors in the rear bumper with a buzzer that beeps faster; sound only. Dash cam: Hardwired on the 12 V side with a cut-off for the small 12 V battery, parking mode included. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.
How long do jobs on a BYD Dolphin take?
CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Ambient lighting: two to four hours. Most Dolphin owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
Do you keep the factory system on a BYD Dolphin?
Pre-facelift: the BYD system with a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen; wireless CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory on most cars, wired on some early builds until updated stays and we add to it. Facelift: the Updated car with the 12.8-inch rotating screen and newer software; wireless CarPlay and Android Auto standard stays and we add to it. Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.
