On most cars yes, and on every 2025 update car. Some early 2023 builds were wired until a software update, and a car that missed it still needs the cable. We check the version and what can be updated, and where it stays wired a small adapter on the USB port gives wireless CarPlay and Android Auto with the factory screen untouched.
CarPlay will not connect in my Dolphin. What do you check?
The software version, the phone pairings stored in the car, the USB ports and the wireless link, in that order. Most connection faults are a stale pairing or a software level rather than a fault in the car, and are cleared in under an hour on launch cars and the 2025 update alike, with your phone tested before you leave.
How much does CarPlay cost on a BYD Dolphin?
It depends on the generation. Pre-facelift (2023–2024): from €250; Facelift (2025 on): from €250. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.
