Yes on cars with the 7-inch screen: the picture comes in through the CarPlay box if you have one, or through a small video interface if you do not, and it appears automatically when you select reverse. On 5-inch cars the screen is too small and has no video input, so the camera shows on an Android screen or a mirror monitor. The camera itself sits in the tailgate handle and looks factory.

It depends on the generation. Mk1 (1995–2004): from €220; P1 (2012–2019): from €220. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.

Mk1, built 1995–2004 (Volvo cassette or CD radio in a single slot, no screen): Camera on the tailgate shown on the Android screen, or on a mirror monitor if the original radio stays. P1, built 2012–2019 (Sensus with a 5-inch screen on base cars or a 7-inch screen with Sensus Navigation; Sensus Connect from 2015 on most cars; no CarPlay on any of them): Camera in the tailgate handle fed through the CarPlay box or a video interface into the 7-inch Sensus screen; the Android screen takes it directly on 5-inch cars.
