A wireless CarPlay interface went in behind the factory Sensus display, so the original screen, radio, settings and steering wheel buttons all work exactly as before, and the module adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as one more source on the same screen. Nothing on the car was cut: the interface plugs into the existing connectors, and if it is ever removed the Volvo XC90 returns to stock with no trace.

Fitting at our workshop in Dublin 11 is a single visit of a few hours, so the car is back with you the same day, with CarPlay and Android Auto paired and tested in the car. Every interface carries a one-year warranty and after-sale support from the people who installed it. If the factory unit has no screen at all, the alternative is an Android head unit with CarPlay built in.
