With a canopy we usually mount the camera on the canopy door rather than the tailgate, so it sees past the door when it is closed, and run the cable through the canopy's own grommet into the chassis loom. On open-bed trucks the camera goes in the tailgate handle recess on the D40 and D23, or in the number-plate light on the D22.
