Yes. KE cars from 2015 and KF cars from 2017 with MZD Connect take the Mazda retrofit kit: a module behind the screen, a new USB hub in the armrest and a software update. CarPlay and Android Auto then run on the factory 7-inch screen with the Commander knob. Cars built from late 2018 usually had it from new, so send the reg and we check.
My 2013 CX-5 has the TomTom screen. Is CarPlay possible?
The TomTom unit and the CD radio on 2012–2014 KE cars cannot run CarPlay, so the route is an Android screen in the factory position with a fascia made for the car. You get wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, DAB, a camera input and the steering-wheel buttons kept; Bose cars keep their amplifier.
How much does CarPlay cost on a Mazda CX-5?
It depends on the generation. KE (2012–2017): from €290; KF (2017–2021): from €290; KF facelift (2021 on): from €250. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.
