Radio King does head unit upgrade on every Mazda 3 generation we see: BK (2003–2009): Android screen with a fascia that matches the BK dashboard; steering-wheel buttons kept, DAB and a camera input included, Bose cars keep their amplifier; BL (2009–2013): Android screen with a BL-specific fascia and a canbus adapter, so the steering-wheel buttons, the top display and the Bose amplifier keep working; BM / BN (2013–2019): Most owners keep MZD Connect and add the CarPlay kit; where the screen has failed or the car is an import, a 9-inch Android screen with the Commander knob retained. How long does car radio take on a Mazda 3?
Two to three hours, usually the same day on the Mazda 3 BK, BL and BM. You can wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
What stays factory when you fit car radio on a Mazda 3?
On every 3 we work on — BK, BL and BM — the steering-wheel buttons, the factory amplifier and speakers, the reverse camera and the climate controls stay; the new unit adds wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, DAB and a camera input.
