Radio King adds CarPlay to the Alfa Romeo Giulia by series: 2016–2019 cars with the Connect 8.8-inch and rotary controller get an interface box behind the screen, or a wireless adapter on 2018-on cars that have CarPlay, and 2020-on facelift cars with the touchscreen have factory CarPlay and get an adapter. Send your reg and we confirm what fits.
The head unit decides the route, and it changed with every generation. Find your years, then pick the service above for what we fit and from what price.
| Generation | Years | Body | Factory system |
|---|---|---|---|
| 952 First series | 2016–2019 | — | Connect 6.5-inch or Connect 8.8-inch with the rotary controller; CarPlay and Android Auto on the 8.8-inch of most 2018-on cars |
| 952 facelift 2020 facelift | 2020 on | — | Connect 8.8-inch touchscreen with CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory, rotary controller kept |
Generation-by-generation guides first — the Giulia jobs we see most. The rest of the workshop's services are done on every Alfa Romeo too.
Book the install, let us photograph the finished car for a case study, and you get a discount on the fitting. Every Giulia owner after you gets a real example to look at.
Real Alfa Romeo cars from the Dublin 11 workshop — Giulia first, then the rest of the range: what was fitted and what changed on the dash.
Car-specific screens, CarPlay boxes and activations for Alfa Romeo: supply-only with delivery across Ireland, or fitted at our Dublin 11 workshop.
Answers for Giulia owners. Something else? Message us on WhatsApp — we usually reply in under 5 minutes.
Ask on WhatsAppEarly 2016 and 2017 cars for the interface box, because they arrived just before Alfa added CarPlay, and 2018-on cars, including the facelift, for a wireless adapter. Harman Kardon cars keep the factory amplifier on both routes. The Stelvio takes exactly the same parts, as it shares the dash and the Connect units.
No. The factory menus, navigation and the rotary controller stay exactly as they are; the box adds a CarPlay source you switch to with a long press of a button, and reverse still brings up the factory camera on cars that have one. The screen is not replaced and the dash is not cut, so the car goes back to standard in an hour if ever needed.
952 — 2016–2019: Connect 6.5-inch or Connect 8.8-inch with the rotary controller; CarPlay and Android Auto on the 8.8-inch of most 2018-on cars. 952 facelift — 2020 on: Connect 8.8-inch touchscreen with CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory, rotary controller kept. Not sure? Send the reg on WhatsApp and we tell you the generation and the route.
CarPlay: An interface box on 2016–2017 cars with the 8.8-inch, a wireless adapter on 2018-on cars with factory CarPlay. Reversing camera: Factory-look camera on the factory screen with guidelines, coded in where the car supports it. Car radio: Larger Android screen with the factory buttons and amplifier kept, where the original display is too small. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Parking sensors: Four sensors in the rear bumper with a buzzer that beeps faster; sound only. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.
CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Ambient lighting: two to four hours. Most Giulia owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
952: the Connect 6.5-inch or Connect 8.8-inch with the rotary controller; CarPlay and Android Auto on the 8.8-inch of most 2018-on cars stays and we add to it. 952 facelift: the Connect 8.8-inch touchscreen with CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory, rotary controller kept stays and we add to it. Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.
Send the reg or the year on WhatsApp or the form below and we confirm the generation, the route, the price and the next free slot. Every job carries a one-year warranty on the work, done at our workshop in Rosemount Business Park, Dublin 11, Monday to Saturday.
