Radio King works on the Tesla Model Y by generation: CarPlay and Android Auto through a box that runs in the car's browser on the factory screen, an app-controlled ambient LED kit on 2022–2024 cars, and footwells, door pockets and rear-seat lighting added to the Juniper's factory strip. Send your reg and we confirm what fits.
The head unit decides the route, and it changed with every generation. Find your years, then pick the service above for what we fit and from what price.
| Generation | Years | Body | Factory system |
|---|---|---|---|
| Original First Model Y, right-hand drive from 2022 | 2022–2024 | — | 15-inch touchscreen on MCU3 (AMD Ryzen); ultrasonic sensors dropped from late 2022 builds; no CarPlay or Android Auto on any Tesla |
| Juniper 2025 facelift | 2025 on | — | 15.4-inch touchscreen on MCU3 with the 8-inch rear screen and a factory ambient light strip across the dash and doors; no ultrasonic sensors, no CarPlay |
Generation-by-generation guides first — the Model Y jobs we see most. The rest of the workshop's services are done on every Tesla too.
Book the install, let us photograph the finished car for a case study, and you get a discount on the fitting. Every Model Y owner after you gets a real example to look at.
Answers for Model Y owners. Something else? Message us on WhatsApp — we usually reply in under 5 minutes.
Ask on WhatsAppAll of it: the screen, the cameras, Sentry Mode and the software updates are untouched, and the box and the lighting sit alongside them on the 12 V side only. We never go near the high-voltage battery. The CarPlay box and the LED kit come out again without a mark, which matters on a car many owners lease.
Yes. It shares the screen, the MCU3 computer and the 12 V wiring with the Model 3, so the CarPlay box, the dash display and the lighting kits are the same parts and the same fitting. The differences are the bigger cabin, which is why rear-seat lighting is more popular here, and the boot, where the rear strips run further.
Original — 2022–2024: 15-inch touchscreen on MCU3 (AMD Ryzen); ultrasonic sensors dropped from late 2022 builds; no CarPlay or Android Auto on any Tesla. Juniper — 2025 on: 15.4-inch touchscreen on MCU3 with the 8-inch rear screen and a factory ambient light strip across the dash and doors; no ultrasonic sensors, no CarPlay. Not sure? Send the reg on WhatsApp and we tell you the generation and the route.
Ambient lighting: App-controlled LED kit on 2022–2024 cars, footwells and rear seats added to the Juniper's factory strip. CarPlay: CarPlay and Android Auto through a browser-based box on the factory screen, or a slim dash display. Reversing camera: Factory-look camera on the factory screen with guidelines, coded in where the car supports it. Car radio: Larger Android screen with the factory buttons and amplifier kept, where the original display is too small. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Parking sensors: Four rear sensors and a beeper that speeds up as you close in; nothing on the screen. Dash cam: Hardwired on the 12 V side with a cut-off for the small 12 V battery, parking mode included. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.
Ambient lighting: two to four hours. CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Most Model Y owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
Original: the 15-inch touchscreen on MCU3 (AMD Ryzen); ultrasonic sensors dropped from late 2022 builds; no CarPlay or Android Auto on any Tesla stays and we add to it. Juniper: the 15.4-inch touchscreen on MCU3 with the 8-inch rear screen and a factory ambient light strip across the dash and doors; no ultrasonic sensors, no CarPlay stays and we add to it. Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.
Send the reg or the year on WhatsApp or the form below and we confirm the generation, the route, the price and the next free slot. Every job carries a one-year warranty on the work, done at our workshop in Rosemount Business Park, Dublin 11, Monday to Saturday.

Excellent service from Radio King. They supplied and professionally installed a 70mai T800 three-channel camera system in my taxi, covering the front, rear and passenger cabin. The wiring was fitted neatly and everything was fully…
