Radio King does CarPlay and Android Auto retrofit on every Subaru Forester generation we see: SG (2002–2008): Android screen with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto; there is nothing in the SG radio to feed; SH (2008–2013): Android screen with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto in place of the CD radio or the Kenwood nav; SJ (2013–2018): Android screen with CarPlay and Android Auto built in, or a CarPlay interface on the 7-inch Starlink screen where the unit supports one; Japanese imports get the screen; SK (2019 on): Factory CarPlay and Android Auto; we add wireless CarPlay with an adapter. SH: the display is replaced, but the steering-wheel buttons, the factory amplifier and the climate controls are kept. SJ: the CD radio with a small display on early cars; 7-inch Starlink touchscreen from around 2016, without CarPlay on most cars; Japanese imports carry a Japanese unit and its controls stay; the box sits behind the trim and is switched from the factory buttons. SK: CarPlay is factory-fitted, so we only add to it.
