If the car has a MIB2 unit, usually 2016 on and most facelift cars from 2017, the CarPlay and Android Auto function is in the software and can be switched on by coding, no parts needed. Earlier MIB1 units never had it, so those cars get a CarPlay box on Columbus or an Android screen in place of Swing or Bolero. Send the reg and a photo of the home screen and we tell you which you have.
How much does CarPlay cost on a Škoda Octavia?
It depends on the generation. 1Z (2004–2013): from €290; 5E (2013–2020): from €200; NX (2020 on): from €250. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.

How long does CarPlay take on a Škoda Octavia?
1Z: two to three hours; 5E: under an hour; NX: about an hour. You can wait at the workshop or drop the Octavia in the morning and collect it the same day.
What stays factory when you fit CarPlay on a Škoda Octavia?
1Z: the display is replaced, but the steering-wheel buttons, the factory amplifier and the climate controls are kept. 5E: nothing physical changes — the MIB1 Swing, Bolero, Amundsen or Columbus to 2015; MIB2 units from around 2016 with SmartLink optional, standard on most facelift cars from 2017 stays and the CarPlay tile simply appears. NX: CarPlay is factory-fitted, so we only add to it.
Do I need to book CarPlay for my Škoda Octavia, and is there a warranty?
