Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for a 2014 Ford Ka

This 2014 Ford Ka came to Radio King for an infotainment upgrade. We removed the original radio and installed a touchscreen head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The new screen gives the driver access to compatible navigation, calls, messages and music apps. We routed the wiring behind the dashboard for a tidy finish, then checked the installation and tested the system in the car before handover.

What we installed

  • Touchscreen head unit
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Neatly routed, concealed wiring

The upgrade brings modern phone connectivity to the Ka while keeping the surrounding dashboard in place. The before-and-after photos show the change from the original radio to the new touchscreen.

Will it fit your Ford Ka?

The suitable equipment depends on your Ka’s model year and existing radio. If your car has steering wheel audio controls, we’ll check what is needed to retain them with the new system.

Send us your registration and a clear photo of the dashboard. We’ll confirm the available options and provide a fitting quote.

FAQ

Questions people ask.

Answers about this Ford Ka job. Something else? Message us on WhatsApp — we usually reply in under 5 minutes.

Ask on WhatsApp
Can Apple CarPlay be retrofitted to Ford models?

In most cases yes. Either an interface is added behind the factory screen, or the head unit is replaced with one that has CarPlay built in. Which route suits Ford models depends on the year and the screen it was built with — we confirm that before quoting.

Will the steering wheel controls still work?

Yes. The new unit connects through a Ford Ka harness and, where the car needs one, a steering wheel interface, so the volume, track and call buttons keep working. A reversing camera can be connected to the same screen.

Is anything cut during the install?

No. The kit uses a fascia and plug-in harness made for the Ford Ka, so the factory wiring is not cut. Keep the original radio and the car can go back to stock later if you want.

How long does the fitting take?

Most CarPlay retrofits are done in a few hours, so the car is usually back with you the same day. We book a slot at our Dublin 11 workshop and confirm timing once we know the exact year and trim.
