Cheap Parking Sensors Fitting in Dublin: Real Prices Compared, and What a Low Price Can Leave Out
The cheapest parking sensors fitted in Dublin are rear sets from mobile fitters at €160, sometimes plus a €40 call-out. Dublin workshops publish €220 to €395 for rear sensors, and Radio King starts from €300. Here is every published price we found on 9 October 2026, what each includes, and when cheap is fine.
On 9 October 2026 the cheapest published way to get parking sensors fitted in Dublin was a mobile fitter: rear sensors supplied and fitted from €160, with a €40 call-out that may apply. Dublin workshops listed rear sensors from €220 (LK Autos), €290 to €330 (Radio Masters), €299.90 or €325 (Car Alarm Ireland) and €395 (ICE Systems). Halfords Ireland lists no parking sensors. At Radio King rear sensors colour-matched to the bumper start from €300, typically €350 with the distance on the factory screen. What the lowest prices often leave out is colour-matching and a set-up that stops false alarms in the rain.
“Where can I get parking sensors fitted cheaply in Dublin?” The lowest published price is not ours, and below we show whose it is. Prices checked on 9 October 2026. Every figure comes from the business’s own website or listing on that date, with a link, and we compare like with like: sensors, fitting, colour, display and warranty. Prices change, so check before you book. Our method is set out in the guide to cheap car electronics fitting.
The cheapest ways to get parking sensors in Dublin
1. Buy a kit and fit it yourself. A rear sensor kit costs €11.13 on AliExpress or €14.39 on Amazon, and a branded Valeo Beep&Park kit €83.87 (prices seen on 9 October 2026). Parcels from outside the EU pay import VAT and, since 1 July 2026, a €3 customs duty per item. Then you drill your own bumper. One Dublin-area Airtasker job from September 2024 offered €120 for rear sensors plus a reversing camera, camera supplied by the customer; that is a budget, not a quote.
2. A mobile fitter from a classified ad. The lowest fitted price we found is a DoneDeal ad for rear sensors supplied and fitted “from €160” (struck through from €180), front sensors by quote, a 12-month warranty on electrical faults and the note that “A €40 call out fee may be applied”. Vik Auto Gadgets, also mobile, starts rear sensors from €160 and warranties the equipment for 12 months. Other ads on DoneDeal and Adverts.ie start from €180. The fitter comes to you.
3. A fitting chain. There isn’t one to compare. On 9 October 2026 the Halfords Ireland parking sensors page returned “Sorry no results found”, and no other chain we checked publishes an electronics fitting price.
4. A Dublin workshop. LK Autos in Inchicore lists “Rear or Front and back parking sensors installed” at €220.00+. Radio Masters lists rear sensors at €290 to €330 and front at €390 to €430 depending on the installation and colour options, with colour-matching at the top price. Car Alarm Ireland lists rear sensors fitted at €299.90, or €325 for four sensors with a display, front at €365 and front and rear at €545, with a 10-year warranty on installation work and products. ICE Systems lists rear audible sensors at €395 and front at €495, colour-matched, with installation and a 12-month manufacturer warranty included. Outside Dublin, Auto Electrical Services in Bandon lists rear sensors from €250 installed, with paint €50 extra.
5. Radio King. Rear sensors colour-matched to the bumper, with a buzzer or a factory-style tone, start from €300, typically €350 with the distance shown on the factory screen where the car supports it. That puts us in the middle of the table, not at the bottom.
What the cheap price usually leaves out
A parking sensor is a cheap part. The work is in a row of holes in a painted bumper, and holes cannot be undone.
- Colour. Sensors usually arrive black or in grey primer. On a black bumper that is fine; on a white or silver one you see dark dots for as long as you own the car, so they are painted to the bumper colour first. Radio Masters puts colour-matching at the top of its range and the Cork workshop adds €50 for paint, so check whether your quote includes it.
- The hole saw and the angle. Each sensor needs a hole cut with a saw of exactly its diameter, at a height and spacing that suit the car, and square to the bumper surface. Bumper corners curve. A hole drilled straight on a curve points the sensor at the ground or out to the side, where it reads the road, the kerb or nothing. A hole in the wrong place means filling and painting the bumper, and nobody publishes a price for that.
- Set-up and false alarms. A good system is set up on the car, with the detection range set and a tow bar ignored, and tested before handover. A badly angled or unset system beeps at heavy rain, road spray or its own tow bar, and a beep the driver has learned to ignore does nothing.
- Buzzer or screen. The cheapest kits sound a buzzer, sometimes with a small LED display stuck to the dash. Many cars with a factory screen can show the distance on it through the right interface, which costs more.
- The cable route and the power. The loom runs from the bumper through a grommet to a control box behind the boot trim and usually takes power from the reversing light, which on some modern cars needs a relay or a filtered feed. The NCT manual lists after-market items “not being wired through ignition switch or a fuse” as a major defect (4.11(g)).
- Workshop or driveway. A mobile fitter is convenient and fine for many jobs, but paint needs a dry, clean place to cure. If colour-matching is in the price, ask where it is done.
- What the warranty covers. “12 months on electrical faults”, “equipment only”, “manufacturer warranty” and “10 years on installation work and products” are four different promises. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2022, when the business that sells you the sensors also fits them, a bad installation is a fault in the goods. Buy the kit from a seller outside the EU and, the CCPC warns, you have fewer protections and no small claims process.
Buy cheap, buy twice: the real cost
Our owner’s rule is short: pay a professional once rather than pay for the same job twice. With sensors the second job can cost more, because the first holes are already in the bumper.
| Example | Route A: lowest fitted price | Route B: done once |
|---|---|---|
| Sensors and fitting | Rear, from €160 | Rear, €290 to €395 published |
| Call-out | €40 may apply | None at a workshop |
| First winter (example) | Beeps in the rain, or one sensor stops reading | Covered by warranty |
| Second job | Rear sensors refitted at a workshop, €290 to €395 | Not needed |
| Total | €450 to €595, plus any bumper repair | €290 to €395 |
This is an example, not a forecast; plenty of low-priced sensor jobs work for years. But if the €160 job has to be redone, it was never a €160 job.
When the cheap option is perfectly fine
- The bumper is black or unpainted plastic, so colour-matching does not matter.
- A van, a pickup or an older car where a buzzer is all you need.
- You are at work all day and a mobile fitter coming to you is worth more than a trip to a workshop.
- You are handy, you have the right hole saw, and you measure twice before you drill once.
Before you book anyone, ask two questions: is colour-matching included, and how is the system set up so it does not beep in the rain?
