On the 2015–2018 car it depends on the unit: the SLDA touchscreen on SZ-T and SZ5 had CarPlay from the start, and Android Auto arrived on most units from about 2017, so an early car may have one without the other. From the 2019 facelift both are standard on SLDA trims. We check the unit by reg, add a wireless adapter where it helps, and fit an Android screen on SZ4 cars with the CD radio.
Can I get CarPlay in a Grand Vitara?
Yes. The 2005–2014 Grand Vitara has a CD radio with no screen, so the route is an Android screen in the double-DIN slot with a Grand Vitara fascia and a plug-in harness, which brings wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, DAB, Bluetooth and a reversing camera input, with the steering-wheel buttons kept. A camera on the side-hinged tailgate and rear sensors usually go in at the same visit.
