If it is a 2018 or later F56, F55 or F57 with NBT Evo, the touchscreen unit, CarPlay is usually in the software and switched off, or it stopped when the MINI subscription ran out. We enable it permanently by coding in under an hour, no parts. 2014–2017 cars with NBT or Visual Boost never had it, so they get a CarPlay box on the factory screen. Send the VIN and we check.
Can an R56 MINI get CarPlay?
Yes, two ways. R56 cars from 2010 with Visual Boost or the MINI navigation system have a 6.5-inch screen in the centre dial, and a CarPlay box feeds CarPlay and Android Auto into it, controlled from the joystick. Cars with the plain Boost CD radio have no screen, so the route is an Android screen in the centre dial with the speed readout on it, wireless CarPlay, DAB and a camera input.
How much does CarPlay cost on a MINI Cooper?
It depends on the generation. R56 / R57 (2006–2013): from €650; F56 / F55 / F57 (2014–2024): not available; F66 / F65 / J01 (2024 on): from €250. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.

R56 / R57: two to four hours; F56 / F55 / F57: under an hour; F66 / F65 / J01: about an hour. You can wait at the workshop or drop the Cooper in the morning and collect it the same day.
What stays factory when you fit CarPlay on a MINI Cooper?
R56 / R57: the Boost CD radio in the centre dial on most cars; Visual Boost with a 6.5-inch screen from 2010, or the MINI navigation system (CCC to 2009, CIC from 2010) in the same dial and its controls stay; the box sits behind the trim and is switched from the factory buttons. F56 / F55 / F57: nothing physical changes — the MINI Boost radio with a 6.5-inch screen, Visual Boost or MINI Navigation (NBT, 6.5 or 8.8-inch) on 2014–2017 cars; NBT Evo (ID5/ID6) with a touchscreen and optional wireless CarPlay from 2018; 8.8-inch touchscreen standard from the 2021 facelift stays and the CarPlay tile simply appears. F66 / F65 / J01: CarPlay is factory-fitted, so we only add to it.
Do I need to book CarPlay for my MINI Cooper, and is there a warranty?
Yes — send the reg or the year and generation (R56, F56 and F66) on WhatsApp or the form below, and we confirm the route, the price and the next free slot. The work carries a one-year warranty, and the workshop is in Rosemount Business Park, Dublin 11, Monday to Saturday.
