CUPRA Formentor · Ambient lighting
CUPRA Formentor ambient lighting installation, generation by generation.
Radio King does ambient lighting installation on every CUPRA Formentor generation we see: Pre-facelift (2020–2024): Extends the factory wraparound ambient strip to the footwells, door pockets and centre console, matched to the CUPRA colours and dimmed with the dash; V1 cars without the strip get an app-controlled ambient kit; Facelift (2024 on): Footwells, door pockets and boot added to the factory ambient system so they follow the colour chosen on the 12.9-inch screen. From €800 incl. VAT. Send your reg and we confirm the route and the price the same day.

FAQ
CUPRA Formentor ambient lighting: questions people ask.
Answers for Formentor owners. Something else? Message us on WhatsApp — we usually reply in under 5 minutes.
Ask on WhatsAppCan the Formentor ambient lighting be extended to the footwells?
Yes. The factory wraparound strip only covers the dash and doors, so we add footwell, door pocket and console lighting that follows the colour you pick on the screen and dims with the dash, on launch cars and the 2024 facelift alike. V1 cars that came without the wraparound strip get an app-controlled kit in the same positions. The wiring is hidden behind the trim and nothing is cut.
Does the added lighting affect the warranty or the car's electrics?
No. The extension takes its signal and power from the factory ambient circuit through plug-in adapters, draws very little current and is fused, so the car's own diagnostics see nothing unusual. Everything is reversible, the trim goes back exactly as it came off, and the factory strip keeps working as before.
How much does ambient lighting cost on a CUPRA Formentor?
It depends on the generation. Pre-facelift (2020–2024): from €800; Facelift (2024 on): from €800. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.
Which CUPRA Formentor years can have ambient lighting?
Pre-facelift, built 2020–2024 (MIB3 with a 10-inch screen on V1 cars and 12-inch on V2 and VZ; wireless CarPlay and Android Auto (Full Link) from the factory on most, wired on some early cars): Extends the factory wraparound ambient strip to the footwells, door pockets and centre console, matched to the CUPRA colours and dimmed with the dash; V1 cars without the strip get an app-controlled ambient kit. Facelift, built 2024 on (MIB3 with a 12.9-inch screen and the latest software; wireless CarPlay and Android Auto standard): Footwells, door pockets and boot added to the factory ambient system so they follow the colour chosen on the 12.9-inch screen.
How long does ambient lighting take on a CUPRA Formentor?
Two to four hours on the CUPRA Formentor Pre-facelift and Facelift. You can wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
What stays factory when you fit ambient lighting on a CUPRA Formentor?
On every Formentor we work on — Pre-facelift and Facelift — the kit runs off a fused feed and the factory ambient lighting stays; colour and brightness are set from your phone.
Do I need to book ambient lighting for my CUPRA Formentor, and is there a warranty?
Yes — send the reg or the year and generation (Pre-facelift and Facelift) on WhatsApp or the form below, and we confirm the route, the price and the next free slot. The work carries a one-year warranty, and the workshop is in Rosemount Business Park, Dublin 11, Monday to Saturday.
