This 2014 Mercedes-Benz A-Class came to our Dublin workshop for FM radio coding and factory infotainment system configuration.
The vehicle retained its original Mercedes-Benz display and factory radio system. Rather than replacing the screen or installing an aftermarket head unit, the required work was completed through software configuration and coding of the existing system.
FM radio coding on the factory Mercedes-Benz system
Modern vehicle infotainment systems often depend on software configuration as well as physical hardware.
For this Mercedes-Benz A-Class, the factory system was updated and configured as part of the FM radio coding process. Once the software procedure was completed, the radio was tested using the original factory display.
The finished system retained the original Mercedes-Benz dashboard appearance while providing the required FM radio functionality.
What we did
• Carried out FM radio coding
• Performed the required software configuration
• Retained the original factory display
• Retained the existing infotainment hardware
• Tested the FM radio after the coding process
No aftermarket screen or replacement head unit was required for this job.
Factory appearance retained
One of the advantages of a coding-based solution is that the original interior remains unchanged.
The Mercedes-Benz display, dashboard and factory controls stay in place, while the required changes are made within the existing infotainment system.
This makes coding a suitable option where the original hardware is already compatible and only system configuration is required.
