No. The strips run from the 12 V accessory supply that switches off when the car sleeps, so they come on when you open the door or wake the screen and go off with it. They draw a few watts, nothing the 12 V system notices, and Sentry Mode is untouched. We do not tap the high-voltage side or any of the body controllers.
The Highland already has ambient lighting — what do you add?
The factory strip runs across the dash and into the front doors, but the footwells, door pockets and the rear seats are dark. We add strips there in a colour that matches the factory one, on the same sleep-safe supply, so the cabin lights up as one system. On pre-refresh and refresh cars, which have no ambient light at all, we fit the full kit.
How much does ambient lighting cost on a Tesla Model 3?
It depends on the generation. Pre-refresh (2019–2020): from €800; Refresh (2021–2023): from €800; Highland (2024 on): from €800. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.
