Two upgrades change how your car sounds: better speakers for clean detail, and a subwoofer for real bass. We fit both to factory standard — hidden wiring, no cut looms, tuned before you drive away.
Car makers build speakers to a price: thin paper cones on a stamped frame, driven by a low-power head unit, in a door that was never designed as a speaker cabinet.
They play music — but vocals sit behind the dashboard, detail disappears at motorway speed, and turning it up only makes things worse. A proper upgrade fixes that in two directions: better speakers raise the ceiling above roughly 80 Hz — voices, guitars, the open top end — while a subwoofer fills in everything below it, the weight and pressure a 6.5" door speaker physically cannot produce.
You don't need a competition system. You need the right components for your car, wired properly and tuned so nothing fights anything else.
We check the vehicle first, recommend the smallest change that gets the result you want, and fit it with vehicle-specific adaptors — no cut wiring, no drilled panels, no rattles. You keep your radio, your steering wheel controls and your warranty.
Most drivers start with one and add the other later. Both are covered in full detail on their own page.
Replace tired factory speakers with proper components — the first upgrade to make if music sounds dull, muffled or distorts when you turn it up.
Add the bottom end. Tidy under-seat active subs, or a boot enclosure with an amplifier when you want it to hit properly.
If you only want to spend once, this is how to choose.
| Speaker upgrade | Subwoofer install | |
|---|---|---|
| Fixes | Dull vocals, harsh top end, distortion at volume | Thin sound with no weight or low end |
| Range | 80 Hz – 20 kHz | 20 Hz – 80 Hz |
| Fitting time | 2–3 hours | 3–6 hours |
| Best if | Music sounds muffled or breaks up loud | The sound is clean but flat and lifeless |

The same six stages on every car audio job — whether it's one pair of speakers or a full system. In this order, every time.
We look at your current speakers, head unit, battery, wiring routes and panel access before quoting anything.
Speaker size, sensitivity and power matched to your head unit or amp, so nothing is starved or over-driven.
Power and signal runs follow factory routes, fused correctly at the battery and hidden behind trim.
RCA or high-level connection from your factory head unit for a stable, clean signal with no engine whine.
Adaptor rings, foam sealing and proper fixings so nothing moves, buzzes or vibrates against the trim.
Gains, crossover points and phase set by ear and by meter, then a listening test with you before you leave.
Speaker swaps are usually a same-day job. Subwoofers, amplifiers and custom builds need more wiring, setup and tuning — that's why the final quote depends on your car and equipment. Tell us what you drive and we'll give you a real number, not a guess.
Speakers and a subwoofer are the core. These are the extras that make the difference between "louder" and genuinely good.

Real cars from the Dublin workshop: what was fitted, what it cost and whether it fits yours.
The questions drivers in Dublin ask us most about speakers, subwoofers and system upgrades.
Ask on WhatsAppIf the sound is dull, harsh or breaks up when you turn it up, start with speakers — they carry vocals, guitars and all the detail you actually listen to.
If the music already sounds clear but flat and thin, add a subwoofer. Most drivers who want the full result do speakers first and a sub second, because bass sounds better once the mids and highs are clean.
Yes. In most modern cars we keep the original head unit and all steering wheel controls, and take a clean signal from it with a line output converter or a direct high-level connection. Nothing on your dashboard changes.
A front speaker pair takes 2–3 hours. An active under-seat subwoofer takes around 3 hours. A passive subwoofer with a separate amplifier takes 4–6 hours, and a full custom system is normally a one to two day job.
No. We use vehicle-specific adaptors and harnesses, never cut factory wiring, and route cables along factory paths. Every install is reversible and covered by our no-damage guarantee, so the car can be returned to standard whenever you want.
Not always. Efficient speakers run well from a factory head unit, and active under-seat subwoofers have an amplifier built in. You need a separate amp when you fit a passive subwoofer, run component speakers hard, or want clean volume without distortion — we'll tell you honestly which side of that line your setup sits on.
Yes. Send us the model and your car details and we'll confirm it fits and quote for fitting only. We also stock speakers, subwoofers and amplifiers we trust if you'd rather we supply everything.
Our workshop is at Rosemount Business Park, Dublin, and we work with drivers from across Dublin and the wider Leinster area. Book a slot and we'll have the car ready the same day for most jobs.
Send us your car details or a quick photo. We'll recommend the right speakers, subwoofer or full system — and give you a clear price.
Tell us about your car and what you're after — we'll come back with honest advice and a clear, no-obligation price.
