Why it's worth having before you need it
Nobody buys a dash camera for the footage of a normal Tuesday. You buy it for the ten seconds where someone pulls out, reverses into you in a car park, or tells the insurer a different story than the one you remember.
This camera records front and rear continuously and protects the clip the moment it detects an impact, and it keeps watching while the car is parked and locked. Insurers in Ireland routinely accept dash-cam footage in claims — which is exactly when the price of the camera stops being a discussion.
How we install it
A dash cam is only as good as the install. Ours are hardwired to the fuse box with the correct fused take-off, cables hidden in the headlining, A-pillar and trim, and the camera positioned behind the mirror where it doesn't block your view or fail an NCT.

Before you order
Does it keep recording when the car is parked?
Yes — parking surveillance is built in. It needs to be hardwired to the fuse box rather than run off the cigarette socket, which is included when you add fitting. We set the voltage cut-off so the camera protects the car without ever leaving you with a flat battery.
Does the rear camera record too, or is it only for reversing?
It records. Both channels run at the same time and save together, so a rear-end shunt is captured from the camera that was actually pointing at it. In reverse, the screen switches to the rear view to double as a reversing camera.
Will it drain my battery?
Not when it's wired properly. The hardwire kit we fit includes a low-voltage cut-off: the camera stops drawing power before the battery drops below the level your car needs to start. That's the main reason to have a dash cam installed rather than plugged in.
Do I need a memory card?
You need a high-endurance microSD card — ordinary cards wear out quickly under constant recording and then fail silently, usually right before you need them. We can supply and format one with the camera, so it works from day one.
Are dash cams legal in Ireland?
Yes. Dash cams are legal to use on Irish roads, and insurers regularly accept footage as evidence in claims. Just keep the camera behind the rear-view mirror so it doesn't obstruct your view — which is where we mount it anyway.
How long does fitting take, and what does it cost?
Fitting takes a couple of hours, since the rear camera cable is run the full length of the car and is priced individually for your car — our sales team confirms the cost before booking. It's carried out at our workshop in Rosemount Business Park, Dublin 11; add installation at checkout and we'll call to agree a time.
