1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the website https://radioking.ie (the “Site”) and the purchase of all products and installation services from Vasso & Co, trading as Radio King (“Radio King,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing the Site or purchasing our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Ordering Process

For a detailed step-by-step guide on how to place an order, please refer to our How It Works page. The general process is as follows:

  • Select Product & Installation: Choose a product and optionally add the installation service.
  • Payment: Complete your payment via Credit/Debit Card (Stripe), Klarna, or Cash (in-store only).
  • Confirmation & Verification: You will receive an automated confirmation email. If you ordered an installation, our manager will contact you within 1-3 business days to verify compatibility and schedule your appointment.

2.1. Purchasing Radios Online

As each car from each region could be slightly different (Japanese, UK, Irish), we cannot guarantee that the cable we send will work 100%. We may need to send alternative cables. The best approach is to provide pictures of your original car cables before purchase. Some minor incompatibilities may appear that we might not be able to resolve.

3. Installation Services

3.1. Scheduling and Timeframe

All installation services will be scheduled within 28 calendar days of order confirmation. If we fail to meet this deadline due to our own fault, you will be entitled to a 10% discount on the installation cost.

3.2. Pre- and Post-Installation Checks

We do not require a signature on a work completion form. Instead, our technicians conduct a thorough check of your vehicle’s electronics with you before and after the installation to ensure everything is functioning correctly.

Important: Do not schedule inspections, NCT tests, or technical checks immediately after installation. Due to the complexity of car electronics, adjustments may be needed; in rare cases, issues may arise that require additional time to resolve.

3.3. Additional Work and Charges

If unforeseen issues require additional work (e.g., repairing damaged original cables), we will inform you of any extra charges and obtain your approval before proceeding. If you do not agree to the additional work, we will stop the installation and provide a full refund.

  • We provide 20 minutes of free diagnostic work on original equipment if it is related to our installation.
  • If you decide to have your original radio re-installed, there is no additional charge for this service.
  • Payment for approved additional work can be made by cash or card.

3.4. Revisits

Additional visits may be required for adjustments or compatibility settings. We ask for your patience as we strive for a perfect installation and may need to address software or compatibility issues afterward to ensure the best experience.

4. Client-Supplied Equipment

We can install equipment purchased elsewhere. However, Radio King is not responsible for its compatibility or functionality. If the installation cannot be completed due to issues with client-supplied equipment, charges for the technician’s time will still apply.

4.1. Hourly Charges

For the installation of client-supplied equipment or attempts to fix client-requested issues unrelated to our product, charges are billed per hour. While we will do our best to assist, no guarantees of success are provided for such services.

4.2. Incompatibility

If client equipment (e.g., frames, cables, reverse cameras) is found incompatible during installation, charges for time spent will still apply.

4.3. Equipment Quality

We are not responsible for issues caused by low-quality or defective client equipment (e.g., overheating, malfunctioning). Clients are advised to purchase quality equipment from reputable suppliers.

5. Product and Service Expectations

5.1. Quality and Compatibility

Our products are high-quality aftermarket units. While we strive for maximum compatibility, some original vehicle functions may not be retained. Due to manufacturing tolerances, some plastic frames may have minor cosmetic variations (1-3mm).

Realistic Expectations: Our products are functional and offer excellent value, but they are aftermarket units. For reference, manufacturer head units for non-premium cars cost €1,500+ and €3,000+ for premium vehicles. If you require premium OEM-level equipment, we can source it at additional cost.

5.2. Older Vehicles (7+ Years)

Plastic components in older vehicles can become brittle and may break during disassembly. Electrical systems in older cars can also be sensitive. Radio King is not liable for pre-existing conditions or failures unrelated to our installation.

Note for German Vehicles: Older German cars (e.g., BMW, Opel, Audi, Mercedes) may have electronic systems that are particularly sensitive due to age. If any part of your car experiences issues because it was touched or unplugged during installation, and this is due to pre-existing conditions or age-related sensitivity, this falls outside the scope of our warranty.

6. Original Equipment Disclaimer

6.1. Radio Locking

Removing your original radio may activate theft protection, locking the radio. Unlock codes must be obtained from your vehicle supplier or manufacturer (this is common with Japanese imports). Radio King cannot assist with unlocking original equipment.

6.2. Settings Reset

Unplugging your original radio may reset specific settings, requiring passwords or knowledge of the original language interface to restore. We cannot assist with restoring these settings.

7. Technical Specifications and Limitations

7.1. Microphone and Calls

  • Noise Limitations: Microphone performance may be affected in cars with internal noise levels above 70 dB.
  • External Microphone Distance: Microphones are typically installed approximately 50 cm away from the driver, which may impact clarity in noisy environments.

7.2. Rear Screen Compatibility

  • Original Screen Compatibility: Rear entertainment screens are often compatible only with the original radio. Integration attempts with aftermarket units may not guarantee functionality.
  • Settings Reset: Modifications may reset rear screen settings. Radio King is not responsible for rear screen functionality after installation.

7.3. Dash Cam Terms

  • Recording Responsibility: Ensure your dash cam is recording correctly. Check for blinking indicator lights, error messages, or SD card warnings.
  • OBD Connection: If parking mode uses the OBD plug connection and is disconnected, ensure it is reconnected for the dash cam to function properly.

8. Car Modifications

8.1. Prior Approval

We will inform you beforehand if modifications (e.g., cutting, drilling, or adjustments) are required for installation. Your approval will be obtained before proceeding with any permanent modifications.

8.2. Modification Costs

If modifications are required and approved, the cost of labor for these modifications is separate from the product cost and is non-refundable once the work is completed.

9. Support Services

9.1. Remote Support

We provide remote support as quickly as possible, but response times may vary as we are a small team.

9.2. Common Solutions

Most issues can be resolved by:

  • Restarting the radio
  • Updating the radio firmware or app
  • Reconnecting your phone via Bluetooth

9.3. On-Site Support

On-site support is not available. If remote assistance cannot resolve your issue, you will need to bring the car to our workshop.

10. Post-Installation Issues

10.1. Battery

Our radios and electronic products cannot damage car batteries. Long-term battery issues are often caused by pre-existing factors such as shipping with a flat battery (common in Japanese imports) or battery age.

10.2. Mechanical Issues

Our electronic products cannot cause mechanical damage to your car (e.g., flat tires, engine issues). Any issues related to our installation are identified during the post-installation check.

10.3. Investigation and Service Charges

We are committed to providing exceptional support and will thoroughly investigate any concerns raised following installation. If our investigation determines that an issue is unrelated to our product or installation, a service charge may apply to cover the time spent diagnosing the cause.

11. Payment Terms

11.1. Accepted Methods

We accept Credit/Debit Cards (processed by Stripe), Klarna, and Cash (in-store only). We do not require a deposit for booking.

11.2. Klarna Financing

To use Klarna, you must be over 18 and a resident of Ireland. Klarna’s financing decisions are based on their own assessment. Please note that Klarna may not be available for all products. If Klarna is not available for an item in your cart, this payment option will not be displayed at checkout. If you need assistance with the Klarna application in our office, our staff can help guide you through the process. For online orders, simply select Klarna at checkout.

11.3. In-Store Collection (Klarna Orders)

For security, if you have paid via Klarna and wish to collect your product in-store, you must present a valid photo ID (passport or driver’s license) that matches the name on the order.

12. Cancellation and Refund

Your right to cancel and receive a refund is governed by our Cancellation and Refund Policy, which complies with the Consumer Rights Act 2022 and EU Consumer Rights Directive. Key points include:

  • 14-Day Cooling-Off Period: You have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods without giving any reason.
  • Refund Process: Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned goods.
  • Condition of Goods: Goods must be returned in their original condition and packaging.

13. Policies

Your purchase and use of our services are also governed by the following policies, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference:

  • Privacy Policy: Explains how we collect and use your data.
  • Cancellation and Refund Policy: Details your right of withdrawal and the refund process.
  • Shipping and Delivery Policy: Outlines shipping methods, costs, and timelines.

14. Warranty

We provide a 1-year warranty on all our products and installation services, covering defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty does not affect your statutory rights under Irish consumer law.

15. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) any breach of the terms implied by the Consumer Rights Act 2022; (d) any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by Irish law.

Subject to the above, our total liability for any claim arising from or related to our products or services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific product or service giving rise to the claim.

This section does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

16. General Provisions

16.1. Dispute Resolution

We aim to resolve all issues directly with our customers. If an agreement cannot be reached, you have the right to pursue your statutory rights under Irish consumer law.

16.2. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

16.3. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, or government actions.
